Company History
In the year 1995, Eng. Khalid Abdullah Bashmail completed his studies in Computer Science from Denver University, USA and established Modern Data Systems. The primary objective was to produce world-class enterprise-wide software solutions that not only bring along latest technology but also lay special emphasis on the specific computing requirements of the middle-east/Arab world.
After studying the market requirements and developing a suitable solution, MDS released it’s first product named PartsWare which was met with great success. This accounting program stood distinct among similar products in many respects. It has continued to evolve over the years and enjoys a distinct place for itself in the market.
In 1998, a specialized multimedia division was established to produce interactive self-paced training software. The chief objective was to provide an effective medium for the Arab youth to explore and learn the latest in information technology, and thus enable the Arab world to keep pace with rapid advancements in information technology. Towards the end of 1998 our first multimedia product, Hathehi Al-internet which, as it’s name indicates, is an introduction to the Internet. It was warmly welcomed by users and received a very positive response from the market, it emerged as a unique self-paced learning solution and set some new standards in self-paced training.
In the year 1999, the company released a new product named AccuWare, which was built around the same rich standards of PartsWare, In addition AccuWare, included solutions that present a high level of comprehensiveness to suit a wide-range of industries and respective functional requirements and Business Practices.
In the year 2000, the company released a collection of self-paced interactive training CDs titled “AllimNafsak Interactive Training Series”, which included training on Microsoft Office2000 applications, in addition to different versions of the windows operating systems.
In the year 2001, in response to dramatic increase in demand for titles of AllimNafsak series, MDS released NeTrainer, An enterprise-level interactive self-paced learning solution.
MDS’s business model grew in proportion to the expansion of its product and service offerings. The company continued to see a growing share of its revenues from enterprise-level contracts and a decreasing proportion from small lot sales of training CDs.
The company still maintains the same zest & zeal and nurtures the same ambitions. Beginning with just one Interactive Learning Application and just one Accounting Solution, MDS has come a long way and grown it’s presence to provide services within and beyond the boundaries of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Today MDS has gained a reputable position among the top IT solutions and services companies in the region.
